Marilyn Manson Hosts this week's top 11 countdown MusicVideos on AOL
while shamelessly plugging his new album, "Eat Me Drink Me"

http://music.aol.com/top11/

note: Takes a few moments for music to download

Also note, in between the Top 11 songs Manson gives recommendation
to check out other areas of interest on the web.
---As I am not certain as to how all this would show up on a screen reader, the area to "click" as Manson gives recommendation is
to left first third area on your screen, about half way down the page.

Know in advance that Hip-hop takes a lead in the Top 11
(the redeeming factor is Manson's hosting with continual cut ins)

Ask Ditta von Teese what she thinks of it
the review would not be favourable.

I Can't stand the obnoxious bollocks,he's never shocked me
Sure after being into Dimmu Borgir for years, nothing does.

And the mighty Borgir have a new cd out,
Sure the best news I had since Lordi's dates were confirmed.
They are bringing their wonderful Norwegian viking blackl metal,
to Glasgow!

Lordi, yes I am familiar with for cd's two I have
That of The Monster Show and also
Hard Rock Hallelujah
They're, well what can I say, they bring not only music
but drama as well to the stage with masks alarmingly charming
in a special affects unique. They're a blast! smile

As for Dimmu Borgir, the mighty, well exploring has
Given me to internet come into first listening of this group
Black Metal I take note, am more than a little interested.
You've given wet to my appetite
At the local music/videos store I'll be on the look out for them
For one I am to add to my musical cd library.

In case you hadn't heard the latest News Report out of
The Dimmu Borgir camp

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

Due to a recently diagnosed injury, DIMMU BORGIR drummer Hellhammer will be unable to play drums for the band on the remaining festival dates this summer and the upcoming European tour with Amon Amarth and Hatesphere.

Hellhammer's x-ray confirmed a severe neck prolapse causing numbness in his right arm. He will be going into treatment soon and could - quite possibly - undergo corrective surgery.

Taking over drum duties for the upcoming shows will be Tony Laureano (Nile, Angelcorpse, Aurora Borealis), who played for DIMMU BORGIR during the band's North American stint on Ozzfest in 2004 and during festival performances throughout 2005.

We wish Hellhammer a swift and successful recovery.

Well, another metal band to check out is Tyr, the first band out of the Farao Islands, Ragnarok is their latest album and a masterful mix of metal and viking rhymes. Also the musicians are absolutely fantastic, especially the guitarists.
As for MM, I liked some of his solder stuff, his cover of Sweet Dreams is a classic, Beautiful People was kinda cool and a few other tracks, such as Disposable Teens for isntance. But I've always felt he markets himself on shock value rather than musical prowess or ability to write something engaging. I went to one of his concert and was more impressed by the freaky people in attenance than theperformer and how they even cheered when he said "you guys are pathetic".
So, sure, there is a niche for him and whilst he sells records that's all good and dandy but I won't be buying his new album.
As for good new stuff, Interpol's latest album, "Our Love to Admire" is pretty good, not as brilliant as "Turn the Lights Out" (and it's not metal) but for intelligent, cool music that admittedly is Joy Divission influenced they are a good listen, the Editors as well, similar sound, their second album is good, especially tracks 6 through 10. The Twang is yet another British indie band that may be over hyped but is actually good, and the good old Scottish band, the Fratellis are just brilliant in my not so humble opinion.
cheers
